Section outline

    • DESCRIPTION:
In this module, you will begin an exploration of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and how it can be used in Environmental Education programs - both curriculum and spatial design. You will also start to identify learning barriers that might occur in various learning environments and in your own program/activity. This is the beginning of a reflective journey and you will likely learn information that challenges your assumptions or makes you less sure of the inclusivity of your programs, locations, and activities. Don’t be discouraged! It is okay to struggle as we are learning new things - it’s part of the learning process. We encourage you to step back and reflect when needed, and reach out to the moderator if you have any questions.

      OBJECTIVES:
After completing this module, you should be able to:
      • Define how UDL can be used to support inclusive learning.
      • Identify examples of barriers that participants might face in various learning environments.
      • Reflect on how UDL could impact your anchoring activity.
